CLAUDIA J. LOWDER
Associate
Claudia Lowder was born in Washington, D.C. on
February 27, 1955 and grew up in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. She received
her B.A. (with Highest Distinction) from the University
of Virginia in 1977, where she
was an Echols Scholar, and her M.A. in philosophy from Cornell University
in 1982, where she was a recipient of the Susan Linn Sage Fellowship. She
obtained her J.D. from the Yale
Law School
in 1986.
Prior to joining Evans, Latham &
Campisi as an associate in September 2001, Ms. Lowder was an associate
with the San Francisco
office of Pillsbury Winthrop for two years specializing in complex civil litigation,
antitrust law, and telecommunications regulation. Her earlier legal
experiences include positions as: a research attorney for the California
Supreme Court, Civil Central Staff; a staff attorney for the United
States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Direct Criminal Appeals
Section; a civil procedure teaching assistant at Yale Law School for
Professor Robert M. Cover; a summer associate for Cravath Swaine &
Moore in New York City; and a summer intern with the City of New York
Corporation Counsel's Office.
Ms. Lowder is a member of the State Bar of
California, the American Bar Association, and the Marin County Bar
Association.
Claudia spent approximately eleven years
of the time after receiving her J.D. as a full-time mother and community
volunteer. She lives in Mill
Valley, California
with her two children.
