JAMES A. BARRINGER
Of Counsel
James A. Barringer
was born in Cincinnati, Ohio
June 12, 1952 and was raised in Los
Angeles. He received his Bachelors degree, with
honors, from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1974, and his law degree
in 1977 at the University of California Hastings College of Law. While at
law school, he was Managing Editor of the Hastings Law Journal and was an
Extern Law Clerk for Justice Stanley Mosk of
the California Supreme Court. He was admitted to the California Bar in
1977.
Mr. Barringer
has taught courses for lawyers on estate and closely held business
planning, as well as estate and trust related litigation through the California State Bar and California Continuing Education of the
Bar. He is certified by the California State Bar as a Specialist in
Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law.
Mr. Barringer
has been a speaker at the University
of Southern California Probate
and Trust Conference, October 1996; California State Bar, Estate
Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section Fall 1995 statewide education
program; and the Northern Trust Tenth Annual San Francisco Trust Forum,
1994.
He is the co-chair of the Litigation
Subcommittee, Bar Association of San Francisco Section on Probate and
Trust Law. He is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco Early
Settlement Program. He has been a member of the California State Bar
Probate and Trust Law Section Study Team on Community Property Issues,
and the San Francisco Estate Planning Council.
Jim lives in Oakland, California.
